State Budget Cuts Could Affect Faith Family - Fox 17 News Story
[December 8, 2009] Budget cuts could mean fewer healthcare options for some of the State's uninsured residents.
The Tennessee Department of Health is looking for ways to cut its budget by 9%. One option being considered is eliminating the $4 million that helps fund small faith based and community clinics. Faith Family Medical Clinic gets part of its funding from the state, the rest is raised through private donations. Patients who are unemployed or working at jobs where they don't have health insurance say clinics like Faith Family are their only option for affordable health care.
